Shopping for groceries is hardly a hassle free ordeal. Even days of planning and creating lists are not enough. Perchance you forget to add a few items to your list or don’t find all the items in one store. Or there could be some great money saving offers that you miss because you’re clueless. Here comes your very own supermarket shopping assistant app, Shopera quashing all your supermarket problems. Now you might think that the app acts as a fancier to-do list. But the app has quite a few illustrious features that help refine your supermarket shopping experience.
The app can be used by anyone with an Android phone, whether a housewife, a clueless guy or a bored husband asked to run errands. The highlight of the app is its comprehensiveness in terms of both, the grocery inventory and the neighborhood stores check list. You can use the app using your Facebook account, Google account or even log in as a guest user. On launching the app, you’re given a detailed tutorial. This is a highly advantageous feature. Using the app once is enough for the user to get acquainted with the interface. Hereafter if you still want to view the demo, there is an option provided on the main menu.
The app lets you create and edit shopping lists, set preferred location and stores. I was surprised to find all the supermarkets in my vicinity enlisted. One of these shut down a few months back. The developers could do with regular updates regarding the same. You can also share your list via Bluetooth and email.
There are umpteen grocery items in their database listed under various categories. You can also search for any item. You can search for the generic term like “soap” or even brand-wise like “Pears”. Next to some items, their Hindi names are also listed. This helps when you don’t know what the English word for regular Indian vegetables, spices and condiments. Take ajwain, methi and amla for instance.
Once you have created your shopping list, click on “View Nearby Stores”. They’ll be listed along with an estimated distance. The location and direction of these stores can be then found using Google maps. Or you could set a default store. As you shop, you could check the items that you’ve put in your basket. Then tap on “done shopping.” If there are any unchecked items still present, the app will inform you at this point. The app requires a working internet connection to browse through categories. But in the offline mode you can access and edit your lists. I also couldn’t find any deals or save money offers. I’m not sure if there wasn’t any offer or it simply wasn’t listed here.
The app is ad free, lag free, does not crash or freeze and at an app size of 2.88MB is a worthwhile download (download link below). Do let us know how you found the app.Download from Google Play
