Adobe Revel by the digital media giant Adobe is a photo sharing and editing app where you control all privacy features. So if you have pictures of moments you want to share with a few close friends or only your family, then this is an ideal app for you. You need not post them on Facebook or Instagram where the privacy options are twisted enough to give you a headache. Make no mistake, the app gives you complete control over who you want to share your photos with. And the photo editing options are at par with (if not better than) most photo editing apps available. Another feature is sync with multiple devices.

To get started you will need either a Facebook, a Google Plus or an Adobe ID. Then install Adobe Revel onto your Android device, iPhone, iPad, Windows 8 device or Mac. You can also view all your pictures on your web browser. Since all the photos get stored in Cloud there is absolutely no reason to not be able to see your pictures from anywhere, on any handset. For the first 30 days you can upload unlimited photos and videos. Thereafter you import 50 photos/videos free per month. Or help them generate revenue by upgrading to premium which offers unlimited photo imports. In that case, be ready to shell out $5.99 for monthly or $59.99 for yearly subscriptions.

Various options on Adobe Revel

You can import photos manually or use the auto sync option. The Group Library feature lets multiple people upload photos to the same library. In this case all users will require a Revel account. You can also use Adobe Revel to share photos with those who don’t use it. The photos can also be shared to your Facebook profile or Twitter handle. You could alternately share the links of libraries or albums and they could view it in the web browser. Simple, easy and convenient.

Next comes photo editing. The have a fair number of filters (called “looks" in this app) that are pretty impressive. You also have other options like crop, rotate, flip, and write captions and so on. And just like any other photo sharing and video sharing based social networking service, you can favorite and comment on these shared pictures. Not only can you view the photos but also download them. If you have any problems they have an elaborate FAQ section on their website as well.

As with any service from Adobe, this one works like a charm. No software glitches. My only complaint, if any, would be the high subscription charges when there are other options that will provide unlimited storage for free. Follow the download button to get Adobe Revel on your Android:

A great app to edit and share photos with a close knit group. The only hindrance is the subscription charge for unlimited storage.
