Have you ever got into trouble walking or driving because you were busy texting and not careful about where you were heading? Well, it happens a lot with all of us. Often we trip over something while walking because we were busy texting. In case you are one of those people who are heavily into texting, you know best what we are talking about. While this tweak is definitely not the sure-shot solution, we still recommend you to keep your phone aside while walking down a busy road, or driving your vehicle. However, we have just the right tweak which can add to your safe venture out on roads even if you are texting.
CamText is one of the most amazing tweaks we have ever come across. The reason being pretty obvious. It takes into consideration one of the very common human errors and reduces it by providing live camera to message background on iPhone. In simple words, the background of the Messages app on your iPhone gets converted into live Camera, so you can see what’s ahead of you, and text at the same time. The fact that Camera provides user with a view of its surroundings, this tweak came into existence as a result of little creative thinking of its developer. One good thing about this tweak is that once installed, you can manually select the transparency level of the background screen of Message app which turns into live Camera feed. Here’s how to get this amazing utility on your iPhone.
Add Live Camera To Message Background On iPhone With CamText Tweak
NOTE: Needless to say, the tweak requires a jailbroken iPhone. Please note that jailbreaking may void your device’s manufacturers warranty. Secondly, your device will stop receiving OTA updates from Apple. Make sure you take a complete backup of your device before you choose to jailbreak it. For help, here’s a tutorial on how to jailbreak your iDevice running on iOS 7 or above.
Step 1: Head over to Cydia app, and tap the Search button to search for CamText jailbreak tweak. The tweak is available under the BigBoss repo for $1.50 USD, however you can follow the tutorial below to get it for free.
Step 2: Once you purchase/install CamText on your iPhone, navigate to Settings->CamText to change its preferences. You can enable/disable this tweak from here, and also select transparency level.
That’s all you need to do. Now, once your device resprings, you can launch Messages app and you should be able to see a screen similar to the one below with live Camera in the background. Since the tweak activates Camera in the background, it will eat up your device’s battery pretty quickly, though keeping you safe at the same time.
