NOTE: Kindly note that Asphalelia is a jailbreak oriented tweak and requires you to own a jailbroken iDevice. In case you wish to jailbreak your device running on iOS 7, you can follow our step by step tutorial below.
Step 1: Fire up Cydia on your iDevice, and tap the Search button on bottom navigation menu to search for Asphalelia tweak.
The tweak is available under the Cydia tweak store for $1.99 USD, however, in case you have already purchased some tweak from a3tweaks before, you can get Asphalelia at a price of $0.99 USD. In case you wish to download it for free, you can follow our tutorial on how to get Cydia tweaks for free.
Step 2: Once purchased/installed, you can simply exit Cydia, and launch Settings->Asphalelia to enter the preferences page.
The first thing you will notice once you enter Asphalelia’s preferences page is that you will be asked to set a passcode. This passcode will be required to make any changes to Asphalelia’s preferences in future. For convenience, you can keep your phone’s lock screen and Asphalelia’s passcode same.
The first option is to add secured apps. Once you tap the Secured Apps option, you will be presented with a screen where you can select applications which you wish to secure using Asphalelia. You can select or deselect all apps at once by tapping the Select All button on top right corner of your device’s screen. Here, you can also select an activation gesture to invoke Asphalelia’s settings right from anywhere on your iDevice.
While making changes to Asphalelia, you will be asked to present your Touch ID everytime to access the preferences page. In case you are not using iPhone 5S, you will be asked to enter your pre-set passcode.
Coming to the passcode section, you can easily assign a new passcode by tapping Change Passcode button in the preferences page. For touch oriented devices, you can simply enable Touch ID toggle in the same preferences page.
This is not all. You can use Asphalelia as a finger print scanner for iPhone 5s and ensure that the only way to open the apps is with your thumb action. For example, you can give your right thumb authority to access all the applications, while your left thumb can only access slide to power off verification. This is one major utility provided by Asphalelia for iPhone 5S users, and definitely sets this tweak apart from other tweaks like iAppLock. Stride 2 is a close approximation as it helps you set your own drawing pattern to unlock lock screen but with Asphalelia, you get to lock individual apps.
Once you press the activation gesture you assigned earlier, you will be presented with shortcut options to configure basic settings of Asphalelia, right from your device’s home screen or any place on your device.
One major advantage of Asphalelia is its ability to be used by both iPhone 5S and non touch oriented devices, and thus makes this tweak the top app protection tweak we can talk about.
