Customise Message Style On iPhone With Message Customiser Tweak

After almost 7 generations of iPhone, and 7 operating systems as well from Apple, some things are still the same as they used to be in 2007 when iPhone was unveiled by Steve Jobs. Apple nearly changed every aspect of its iPhone, from the lock screen, to the new icon pack in iOS 7. But coming to think of it, there have hardly been any changes to the Messages application on iPhone. You still see the same old green and grey bubble boxes for incoming and outgoing texts, or grey and blue bubble box for iMessages.

Message Customiser is the new jailbreak tweak for your iPhone that gives you a break from your monotonous lifestyle by adding customisations to Apple’s native Messages application. We will talk more about the features right after we finish covering the installation part below.

Customise Message Style On iPhone With Message Customiser Tweak

NOTE: To be able to use Message Customiser on your iPhone, you will first have to jailbreak it. In case you have done so, you can skip this part. If you wish to jailbreak your iPhone running on iOS 7, you can follow our step by step tutorial below. Please make sure you take a complete backup of your iPhone before proceeding, in case something goes wrong.

Step 1: Fire Cydia app on your iPhone from the springboard, and then look out for Search button in the bottom. There, search for Message Customiser tweak.

The tweak, developed by Charlie Hewitt is available under the BigBoss repository for free.

Step 2: Tap the Install button from top right corner of the screen to start installation. Once done, tap the Return To Cydia button and exit Cydia.

Step 3: Head over to Settings->Message Customiser to configure the settings of this tweak.

Here, you will first of all comes across Colours panel where you can define the color bubble for your incoming text message, outgoing text message, as well as incoming/outgoing iMessages. Simply select the color from the selection menu. Further, Message Customiser also lets you set contact pictures right next to the message bubbles. This is one really good functionality and now that it has been integrated within this tweak, you need no external tweaks.
