If you have used Mac system in the past, you would be aware of the Alfred tweak. This lets you search and implement various Mac oriented functions right from anywhere on your Mac screen by simple keyboard shortcuts. Now, in case you have recently switched to an iOS powered device like iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, we have just an alternate tweak to Alfred. With this tweak you can get iOS keyboard shortcuts by implementing a system wide search bar on your iDevice.
Known by the name of Weasel, a new jailbreak tweak aimed at providing ease of access to iOS users, the tweak is capable of bringing basic iOS features like respringing, power off, or reboot and infinite other iOS keyboard shortcuts right from a search bar. For instance, in case you wish to power off your device, simply type ‘system’ in the search bar, and you will be provided with all system related functionals on your iPhone. That’s not all. Weasel can apparently provide you with iOS keyboard shortcuts to perform any function on your iOS, from browsing the web, to playing music right with the help of your on board keyboard. Here’s how to get Weasel on your iDevice instantly.
Get System Wide iOS Keyboard Shortcuts With Weasel Jailbreak Tweak
NOTE: Weasel is a jailbreak tweak and requires you to have a jailbroken iDevice. In case you haven’t jailbroken it, you can follow our step by step tutorial below to do so. Please make sure you take complete backup of your device before proceeding.
Step 1: Fire Cydia app on your device from its springboard and then tap the Search button on bottom navigation menu to search for Weasel tweak.
The tweak is available under the BigBoss repo for a price of $1.99 USD. However, you can simply get the cracked version of this tweak by following our tutorial on how to get cydia apps for free.
Step 2: Once you have purchased/installed Weasel on your iDevice, simply tap the Return To Cydia button to exit Cydia. Now, navigate to Settings->Weasel tweak to configure its settings.
Once you tap the settings, you will be asked to assign an activation method to Weasel. The activation method uses Activator tweak which is installed along with Weasel on your iPhone in the same bundle. While Apple removed the spotlight search from iOS 7, Weasel comes as an improved version of the same, with a plethora of system options and functions.
Now, you don’t have to follow the standard route all the way to the Settings app to configure an option, as you can simply do so by typing a related keyword in the Weasel search bar.
