While Apple already offers much of it’s iPhone oriented applications with an easy to use interface, the never ending jailbreak community has decided to go a step ahead. That’s right, now you can add your custom gestures like tapping on the status bar, double or tripple tapping the home button, hitting the volume rocker buttons to quickly launch your favorite application within no time. Activator is the Cydia tweak we are talking about which let’s you access your most frequently used applications easily by making use of default Apple buttons and interface on your iPhone. Activator comes within the default BigBoss repository package, so in case you have recently jailbroken your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch, it is going to be there in the Cydia app itself. Here’s how to get Activator app on your iPhone, and start using it, absolutely free.
How To Create Custom Gestures With Activator Cydia Tweak
Step 1: You will need a jailbroken iDevice to install Activator tweak on it. In case you haven’t jailbroken your iDevice already, follow our guide on how to do it below. We highly recommend you to take a complete backup of your iDevice before proceeding to the jailbreaking part.
Once you have jailbroken your iPhone, follow the steps below to get started.
Step 2: Unlock your iDevice, and search for the default Cydia app located somewhere on your device springboard. Cydia is the default jailbreaking app which is installed when you jailbreak your iDevice. Tap it to launch the app.
Step 3: Once the Cydia dashboard loads up, tap on Search button in the bottom navigation menu to search for the Activator Cydia tweak.
Note: Activator tweak is a free of cost utility provided by the BigBoss repository to all users who have jailbroken their iDevice. Do not buy or purchase any app going by the same name provided by any repository other than BigBoss, as seen in the image above.
Step 4 : Tap the Activator tweak, and click on Install button on top right corner of the screen. If you already have Activator installed on your iDevice, you should see the Modify button instead. You can use it to update Activator to it’s most recent release. The screen should go black, and packages will start downloading.
Now, you can select specific gesture for launching your favorite apps at the Activator dashboard. For instance, if you wish to launch Camera app by simply double tapping the power button, simply assign Camera to that specific function in Activator app.
The same can be followed for almost all iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch functionalities, and is a great way to save time while accessing frequently used apps on your iPhone.
